Your own corner of the world.

A country estate is never just acreage. It is the view you chose, the place you come home to, and a reflection of who you are and what you hope to pass on.

Keeping it that way takes more than mowing: pastures, woodlines, ponds, orchards, vines, and gardens each need the right care at the right time, and most owners end up coordinating a rotating cast of contractors with no one looking after the whole.

Our Approach

Listen. Plan. Steward.

  1. I

    Listen

We walk the property with you and learn what it means to you, how you use it, what you love, and what you want it to become.

  2. II

    Plan

We translate that into a written stewardship plan, season by season.

  3. III

    Steward

We carry it out and oversee every contractor, so the land keeps expressing your vision year after year.

Services

Care for the whole property.

I

Property Assessment & Stewardship Plan

A thorough walk of your land and a written plan built around how you want it to look, feel, and endure. Yours to keep either way.

II

Ongoing Estate Land Management

One steward who knows your land through every season: plant health, pastures, woodlands, invasive control, and contractor oversight, with regular written updates.

III

Private Estate Vineyards

Complete installation and ongoing management — site and soil evaluation, variety selection, trellising, planting, pruning, canopy management, pest and disease control, and harvest. Also orchards and kitchen gardens, with guidance on estate wine or cider for the owner's table.

For many owners, a few rows of vines become the heart of the property.

Conservation Programs, Grants & Tax Savings

Many estate improvements qualify for public cost-share funding or tax relief. We identify the programs that fit your property, prepare the applications, and manage the work to program standards.

I

Soil Conservation Districts

Conservation planning and cost-share guidance through your county district.

II

Water Quality Cost-Share

Maryland funding for stream fencing, livestock watering systems, and buffers.

III

USDA Conservation Programs

Including EQIP and CREP stream buffer incentives.

IV

Woodland Tax Savings

Property tax savings under a Maryland Forest Stewardship Plan, and Pennsylvania's Clean and Green program.

Program terms and eligibility vary; we confirm current requirements for each property.

About

Vintage Land & Estate

"For nearly twenty years I've worked the land: raising crops and sheep on an organic farm, planting estate vineyards, building wineries from the ground up, and overseeing plant health and turf care on estates across the region. Every property has its own character. My work is to understand it, and yours, and shape a place that could belong to no one else."

— Blake, Proprietor

  • Managed vineyards and farms in Paso Robles, CA; southern Michigan; and Orange, NSW, Australia
  • Founded Great Lakes Vineyards, designing, planting, and caring for private estate vineyards
  • Founded Detroit Vineyards, building a winery inside a restored historic factory and leading the change to city code that made it possible
  • Built a 75,000 sq ft agricultural operation from bare ground, including greenhouses, irrigation, and a team of more than 40
  • Led large-scale plant health and turf programs for estates and properties across the region
